George focuses his practice on providing regulatory, commercial, corporate, competition and transactional advice in the energy sector in Greece.
As former Head of European & International Affairs and Senior Legal Advisor at the Greek Regulatory Authority for Energy (RAE), George has a deep knowledge and understanding of the prerogatives and complexities of the energy landscape.
He has had a leading role in many landmark energy projects, including the TAP and the IGB natural gas pipelines, Floating Storage Regasification Units (FSRUs), and other Projects of Common Interest. His vast experience also includes complex Renewable Energy Sources (RES) projects, wholesale markets compliance and retail markets reforms.
George also has a demonstrated, profound knowledge of the European energy markets. He has served as a member of the Board of Regulators of the European Union Agency for the Cooperation of Energy Regulators (ACER) and in other European energy associations, and has acted as an energy expert and senior manager in numerous EU technical capacity projects.
He is a member of the Laboratory for Energy and Environmental Management of the Department of Banking and Financial Management of the University of Piraeus, and he is the instructor of the annual executive training course entitled Energy Transition: Law & New Markets at Nomiki Vivliothiki.
